Healthcare Is the #1 Target for Cybercriminals

Patient records sell for $250–$1,000 each on the dark web — far more than credit card data. Small medical and dental offices are targeted precisely because they hold valuable data but rarely have dedicated IT security. A single ransomware attack can shut down your practice for days or weeks, exposing you to HIPAA fines, patient lawsuits, and permanent reputational damage.

Cybersecurity Services for Medical Offices

Everything your practice needs to stay secure, operational, and compliant — without hiring a full-time IT team.

🏥

EHR System Security

Securing your Electronic Health Record platform — access controls, encrypted connections, session timeouts, and audit logging so only authorized staff can access patient records.

🔒

Network Security & Segmentation

Your practice Wi-Fi, routers, and connected devices locked down. Patient data traffic separated from guest and administrative networks to contain any breach.

💾

Encrypted Backup & Recovery

Automated, encrypted, offsite backups of all patient records and practice data. Tested recovery procedures so a ransomware attack never means lost data or a forced HIPAA breach report.

🎣

Phishing & Email Security

Email filtering, phishing simulations, and staff training. Over 90% of breaches start with a phishing email — we stop them before they reach your team.

🖥️

Endpoint Protection

Every computer, tablet, and device in your practice protected with next-generation antivirus, automatic patch management, and remote monitoring.

📋

HIPAA Security Compliance

Security Risk Assessments, written policies, Business Associate Agreements, and quarterly reviews — all the documentation the OCR expects to find during an audit.

The Biggest Threats to Your Practice

These are the attacks hitting small medical and dental practices right now.

🦠

RANSOMWARE

Encrypts all your patient records and practice files. Attackers demand $50K–$500K to restore access. We block it before it executes.

🎣

PHISHING ATTACKS

Fake emails that trick your front desk or billing staff into handing over login credentials. One click can compromise your entire network.

👤

INSIDER THREATS

Former employees with active credentials, or current staff accessing records they shouldn't. Access controls and audit logs stop this.

📱

UNSECURED DEVICES

Staff checking patient records on personal phones or unmanaged laptops. One lost device can trigger a mandatory HIPAA breach notification.

🌐

THIRD-PARTY VENDOR BREACHES

Your billing company, EHR vendor, or IT provider gets hacked — and your patient data goes with it. BAAs and vendor vetting protect you.

🔓

WEAK PASSWORDS & NO MFA

The most common entry point. We enforce strong passwords and multi-factor authentication across every system that touches patient data.

Common Questions from Medical Offices

We already have an IT company. Do we still need a cybersecurity specialist?
Most general IT companies handle helpdesk, hardware, and software support — not security hardening, threat monitoring, or HIPAA compliance. These are different skill sets. Many practices have both a general IT provider and a cybersecurity specialist. We can work alongside your existing IT company or handle everything end to end.
Our EHR vendor says they're HIPAA compliant. Aren't we covered?
No. Your EHR vendor's compliance covers their platform — not the devices your staff use to access it, your office Wi-Fi, your email, or any other system in your practice. You are independently responsible for securing everything on your end, and for having a signed Business Associate Agreement with every vendor that handles patient data.
How do you work remotely with a medical office?
We use secure remote access tools to connect to your systems, monitor your network, deploy security software, and perform assessments — all without disrupting your practice day. For practices in the Lynchburg, VA area, we also offer on-site visits. The vast majority of our work is done remotely with no difference in quality or coverage.
What happens if we have a breach while under your protection?
We respond immediately — containing the breach, documenting the incident, and helping you navigate the HIPAA breach notification requirements (60-day HHS notification window). Breach incident response is included in all plans at no extra charge.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. All plans are month to month. We earn your business every month by delivering real protection and clear reporting. You can cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
